Personal Background

Greetings,

I suppose the temptation for any smaller business is to make itself appear much larger than it is so it won’t be dismissed from consideration by prospective clients. But I will come out and say it right here...we are a small business. A business with one employee...myself. But hopefully that fact won’t dissuade you from considering doing business with this small but agile company. I was also tempted to write this section differently (the company founder blah-blah-blah), but decided I wanted to write this in the first person perspective in order to make it more personal. Why? Because in reflection, that is how I run this company. The company tag line is “your connection to personal commitment in service” and the reality is just that...I am personally accountable to what I commit to do for anyone.

My name is Brian Burns, and my background in telecommunications spans as far back as a teenager when I entered the U.S. Army and worked as an Avionics Equipment Repair Specialist, focused on troubleshooting & repairing radio equipment for the UH-IH “Huey” & AH-IH “Cobra” helicopters. I was recognized as the best tech in the repair shop and acknowledged by the Commanding Officer as being in the top 5% of his unit.

Three years later, with Honorable Discharge in hand, I returned to civilian life and took advantage of the GI Bill to help fund attending college to gain a deeper understanding of electronic theory to augment what I had already learned. With that additional knowledge, my practical experience in telecom, and my lessons learned as a soldier of responsibility, focus, mission, etc. , I launched into the workforce and have been in telecom in one form or another ever since. This has included both technical and sales roles, and has included industries involved in paging, mobile telephony (precursor to cellular), voice mail servers, call center recording, telephone systems, and cabling.

My technical background has enabled me to gain much practical experience with “in the field” situations, where real world circumstances can often clash with idealistic “looks good on paper” planned scenarios. Issues unnoticed and unresolved during the construction phase can often bring great pain later in the game for IT. I take pride in searching for these potential problems early on so corrective action can be initiated.

I look forward to the chance to explore the possibility of a great business relationship, one in which I will be a reliable partner who acts like he’s part owner of YOUR company.

Sincerely,

Brian Burns
